DIY: Felted Jewelry Pouch

This handmade felted jewelry pouch is a sweet way to keep your jewelry protected and organized while on the go.

Start with a 5 inch by 15 inch piece of soft felted wool, a little embroidery thread, some ribbon and a fun vintage earring.

The felted wool I used was from the sleeve of a thrifted lambswool and angora sweater. I washed it in hot water and dried it in the dryer to felt it. This makes the fibers tight so it won’t fray.

Start by folding the bottom up 5 1/2″ and thread your needle with the embroidery thread.

Pin the sides to keep them straight.

Then hand sew the sides of the folded area together with your favorite stitch.I love the look of this blanket stitch.

Fold down the flap, tie a pretty ribbon around it and add a special vintage clip-on earring. Thank you Great Aunt Betsy!
